Location: Columbus, OH 

Job Description  

 

Overview:  

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Administrator to join our innovative team. This role focuses on the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise-level databases that support global, high‑availability operations. You’ll support database development projects through scripting, participate in physical database design, and help ensure secure, high-performing, and resilient database environments. This includes installations, upgrades, backups, and ongoing operational support within a 24x7x365 environment. 

 

Responsibilities  

  • Highly skilled at database design, installations, and conversions, specifically with SQL Server databases. 
  • Critical production support for Database applications. 
  • Upgrade OS to the latest supported version. 
  • Install and Configure Always On HA and DR with multiple nodes on the Windows Server Failover Clustering. 
  • Coordinate upgrade activities with Business, Vendors and Application development. 
  • Conduct performance tuning for the Database system and the application including the z/OS and Windows platforms. 
  • Work hands-on with enterprise-class database technologies across multiple platforms 
  • Direct exposure to high‑availability, mission‑critical environments supporting global operations 
  • Diverse daily work across scripting, performance tuning, physical design, monitoring, and cloud technologies 
  • Collaborative team environment with opportunities to learn from experienced senior DBAs 
  • Significant impact on the stability, reliability, and performance of core operational systems 
  • Respond to and resolve "production down" and critical system and application problems and issues on a 24-hour basis, create Root Cause Analysis for the incident and take measures to prevent the similar incidents from future. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related fields 

 

Mandatory Requirements: 

  • 3-5 years of Database Administration Experience. 
  • Hands‑on performance tuning for MS SQL/Oracle and experience with backup tools (RMAN/TSM) 
  • Familiarity with database monitoring tools, logical/physical design, and platforms such as Oracle Exadata, IBM‑DB2, and GoldenGate 
  • Exposure to Snowflake and AWS database services (RDS, Aurora, Redshift, DMS, S3) preferred 
  • Strong experience with DB2 and SQL Server. 
  • Experience with Teradata is a plus. 
  • Ability to learn quickly, work under guidance, communicate effectively, and deliver strong customer service 
  • Solid analytical, problem‑solving, and cross‑functional collaboration skills 
  • Willingness to participate in a 24x7x365 on‑call rotation 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.  
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment.  
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and business requirements.
